He explains, “the challenge is to focus on teams and develop them to play in the proper leagues and ensure the right support and resources are channeled to groom them.”

In his speech, Radin Sufri also states DST”s continuous support for youth development in football. “DST has supported NFABD with their youth development activities to continuous apply and hone their skills, such as in NFABD organised football festivals. This includes DST’s own annual initiative “Ihsan Kasih” for Orphans, which in turn is supported by NFABD. We are pleased to note that from the previous initiative, NFABD are able to indentify 10 young orphans who are currently undergoing Under 12 and 14 Grassroots scheme Platforms such as this for the youths, are important to providing a very good base to identify and nurture them to be developed to play in the Brunei DST-NFABD leagues and ultimately qualifying to play for the National Team. As a country we can all contribute to this by creating more similar platforms for this to happen, even if it is just providing for a place to play.”
