Young Tabuans Ready For AFC U14 Regional Festival

The Brunei Darussalm National under 14 men team are looking forward to compete against the regional ASEAN national teams in upcoming AFC U14 Regional Festival that is hosted by Brunei Darussalam from 25 - 30 July 2016. This is the 2nd and final year that Brunei Darussalam is hosting this event.

The young Tabuan have been preparing for this international exposure since last year October 2015 when they were first assembled to train and play as NFABD U13 team for the 2015 NFABD Elite U15 Youth Cup.

The team has continue training into this year 2016 under the guidance of coach Stephen Ng and his team of coaches, training up to 6 times per week to speed up and shorten their learning curve in order to match the regional strong teams in the next few years.

The Tabuan 14 team is currently participating in the 2016 NFABD U16 YOUTH LEAGUE season and is sitting on 3rd place out of 10 teams after the 1st round robin 9 games played.

Among the exciting players in the Tabuan U14 teams are the midfield trio of Aminuddin, Imam and Aisan.

Aminuddin playing as central midfielder is a technically gifted player, a player able to speed up the tempo of the game. He was called up and trained with the Tabuan U14 team after an exceptional performance with MSN united in the 2015 NFABD Elite Youth Cup.

Imam is also another good talent, who likes to run at opposition defender with the ball. A player that shows good football qualities at a young age and is definitely a player for the future with continuous development

Aisan, is looking forward to the 2016 AFC U14 Regional festival again after participating in last year event as the only 2 players (the other is his brother Aisam, the current captain of 2016 Tabuan U14 team) that is still eligible to play again this year. Aisan currently studying in Brunei Sports School is an adventurous players that can penetrate opposition defense to create goals. Said Aisan, "Last year experience playing in the AFC U14 Regional festival have made me a better player. This year, I am looking forward to play a key influential role for the Tabuan U14 team"

The Tabuan U14 team is currently training hard for another good international exposure in their development. Tabuan U14 head coach, Stephen Ng said, "We are looking forward to put up good performances in all our games this year and hopefully the performance will yield some good results. The boys will continue with their football education for the next couple of years by going through structural training program and playing more international games in AFC and AFF organized competitions. This will help develop them into strong players that can compete to achieve glory in the future SEA GAMES for Brunei Darussalam.
