Tabuan A, Najip FC win DST Futsal Cup for orphans

Tabuan A and Najip FC were crowned champions of today’s DST Futsal Cup For Orphans after winning their respective age-group categories.
Currently in its fourth year, over 70 young footballers from all four districts participated in the half-day event which is an initiative under DST’s community corporate social responsibility program “Ihsan Kasih” and supported by the National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD).
Tabuan A won the Under 15 (between the ages of 13 and 15) category after winning all three of their games at NFABD House while Najip FC had a perfect record in all four of their Under-12 (between the ages of 9 to 12 years old) games.
Tabuan A were followed by Kota Ranger (six points) and Menglait FC (three points) in the four-team competition. MS ABDB were second in the Under-12 category after collecting nine points while Wijaya FC were third with six points in the five-team group.
Kota Ranger’s Mohd Waez Shami Hj Mohd Noor won the Top Scorer award in the Under-15 category after netting four goals while Md Abd Hafiz Shamsul Rizal won the Top Scorer award in the Under-12 category after scoring seven goals.
Presenting the prizes were Radin Sufri Radin Basiuni, Assistant General Manager of Group Corporate Communications in DST. CEO of DST, Suhaimi Hussain, was the event’s guest of honour.
Former national team goalkeeper Ibrahim Abu Bakar - who won the 1999 Malaysia Cup – was also at hand to provide words of motivation and encouragement to the young footballers.
