Brunei leave for AFF National Under-15 Championship

The national Under-15 team left for Thailand to compete in the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-15 Championship today.
The team at the July 7-22 tournament in Chonburi is made up of 23 players and eight officials.
ďThis is a long-term development team for future Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, and the main aim is to give these boys some international exposure,Ē said the teamís coach Stephen Ng.
Drawn in Group B, Brunei start their campaign against Timor Leste on July 10 and play Vietnam on July 12.
They then face Malaysia on July 14, Cambodia on July 16 and end their group stage play against the Philippines on July 18.
Group A, meanwhile, is drawn up of defending champions Australia, Indonesia Laos, Myanmar, Singapore and hosts Thailand Ė who are the most successful team in the tournament having won it three times.
Present at the Brunei International Airport to send the team off was National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Acting General Secretary Pg Md Amirrizal Pg Hj Mahmud, NFABD officials and the teamís family and friends.
