National Under-15 head coach Stephen Ng (pic) praised his team after a good showing at the AFF Under-15 Championship in Thailand - their first international tournament.
The team ended the tournament on Tuesday with a 0-0 draw against the Philippines, and they will return to Brunei with five points from a win and two draws - the country's best-ever record tally in the competition.
"Our boys continued their good momentum from the last game (a 2-0 win against Cambodia) to dominate almost the entire game, creating many chances in both side of the half - but we were unlucky not to find the net today," he said.
"It was not easy for our boys as we played our fifth game in nine days.
"Overall, our boys did well for a young side that finished the group stage with one win, two draws and two loses, scoring three goals and conceding a total of only five goals.
"We also only collected two yellow cards for the five games played.
"The next stage is for the team to continue training and playing at this level of international game intensity and to prepare well for the AFC Under-15 qualifiers in September."
