National Team receive bonus for AFF Under-15 Championship win

THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) rewarded the national Under-15 team for the countryís maiden win at the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-15 Championship last week.
The team received a bonus for their 2-0 win over Cambodia on July 16, the victory the countryís first ever in the tournament.
The bonus was handed out to the teamís players and officials by NFABD Acting Vice President Hj Madli Hj Mohd Yussof at NFABD House last Friday.
The country ended the July 7-22 tournament with five points from a win and two draws, Bruneiís best ever record tally in the competition which was held in Chonburi, Thailand, this year.
Brunei started off with a 0-0 draw against Timor Leste on July 10 before falling 2-1 to eventual champions Vietnam on July 12 and 3-0 to Malaysia on July 14.
They then recorded the historic 2-0 win against Cambodia thanks to goals from Md Addy Zaky Billah Hj Raimi and Md Zainul Ariffin Mahdinee before ending with a 0-0 stalemate with the Philippines in their last Group B game on July 18.
The same team, who are known as Tabuan A, also won last Fridayís NFABD Under-16 Elite Youth Cup after beating Tabuan B (the national Under-14 team) 3-1 in the final at the Balapan Track & Field.
Vietnam won the AFF Under-15 Championship 4-2 on penalties after a 0-0 draw with hosts Thailand in the final.
