Registration open for Nation-Wide Under-12 Tournament

THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) is opening registration for a nation-wide Under-12 tournament which will be organised in collaboration with the Veteran Football Association (VFA) and the Department of Co-Curricular Education, Ministry of Education next month.
Slated for Sept 3-10, the 7-a-side school-holiday tournament will be held once in each district except for Brunei Muara – which will host it twice before the Sept 10 final.
The tournament will kick off at the Arena field in Seria on Sept 3 before moving to NFABD House on Sept 5. The Tutong Sports Complex will play host to the district-wide tournament on Sept 6 before the tournament moves back to Brunei Muara and the NFABD House on Sept 7.
The Temburong edition will be organised at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex on Sept 8 before the Sept 10 final at NFABD House.
The pitches in the various venues will be divided into four, and play will kick off simultaneously in all four mini-pitches during the day.
The aim of the tournament is to find groups of players to become youth clubs for future competitions as well as to scout for players to be part of NFABD’s elite programmes.
The tournament is open to all teams coming from youth clubs, schools or communities in the country.
Registration is open to players born in 2005 or after, and all teams are to be composed of 12 players – which included two goalkeepers. A maximum of 16 teams will be allowed to compete in each of the tournaments, with the winner and runner-up advancing to the final on Sept 10.
