Brunei fall to Myanmar in 2017 AFF Futsal Championship Opener

The national futsal team fell 13-0 to Myanmar in the opening game of the 2017 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship in Vietnam today.

Brunei were down 8-0 after the first half but played better in the second period in the match held at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.

“I hope we can improve on this performance and emulate our second half performance in our next game,” said national futsal coach Hj Md Yunos Hj Md Yusof.

Today’s other Group A game saw Indonesia, who Brunei play tomorrow, defeat the Philippines 21-0.

Brunei will resume their Group A campaign against Indonesia tomorrow (6pm Brunei time) before facing hosts Vietnam on Sunday (8pm Brunei time) and ending their five-team group stage competition against the Philippines on Monday (5pm Brunei time).
