BRUNEI fell 11-0 to Asian powerhouse South Korea in their second game of the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-19 Championship qualifiers in South Korea today.
The national team was down 3-0 after the first half, but the hosts shifted gears in the second period to hand Brunei their second loss at the qualifiers after their 5-0 defeat to Indonesia on Tuesday.
“Our defence was very compact in the first half… But physically, our opponents were stronger and had better shooting power - but we still fought and didn’t give up,” said national Under-18 coach Takao Fujiwara.
“One positive from this match was the experience we got playing against one of Asia’s best teams,” said the Japanese.
Brunei take on Malaysia on Saturday and Timor Leste in their last Group F game next Wednesday.
