Friday, November 11, 2017
NATIONAL Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) Assistant General Secretary Pg Mohd Amirrizal Pg Hj Mahmud today encouraged the participants of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) C License Coaching Course to keep learning their trade.
The course, which started on October 30 and ended today, was attended by 19 participants – some of whom were from Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and South Korea.
According to the AFC website, the course is aimed at training coaches and developing their basic techniques and skills in football.
Holders of the ‘C’ certificate, after meeting other requirements, can go on to take the higher ones - the ‘B’ and ‘A’ certificates.
They can then sit for the highest coaching qualification in Asia, the AFC Professional Coaching Diploma, commonly known as the Pro Diploma.
“This is just the first step… Keep learning, as this is a life-long process for you,” Pg Mohd Amirrizal told the participants during today’s closing ceremony at NFABD House.
“I strongly believe each and every one of you here can go on to be great coaches... Maybe even coach a team in the World Cup!
“You are like teachers.
Teachers teach in the classroom, coaches teach on the field.
“It is important that you are patient in nurturing your players as every player is different.
“It is also important that you are disciplined, as a disciplined coach will have a disciplined team, players and officials,” he added.
The course was conducted by NFABD Senior Staff Coach Stephen Ng.
