Wednesday, December 6, 2017
The DST FA Cup will resume with eight second round matches next month at dates yet to be announced.
The first round kicked off on November 5 with four matches between DST Premier League teams.
As DST Premier League champions, Setia Perdana did not play in the first round and were given an automatic berth to compete in the second round.
Instead, Setia Perdana’s place was taken by Tabuan A (the national Under-16 team) – who beat Panchor Murai FC to progress to the second round.
Also advancing to the second round were IKLS FC - who were DST Premier League runners-up and beat Tunas FC in the first round.
Completing the list of DST Premier League clubs to progress to the second round were Brunei Shell Recreation Club (BSRC) FT - who beat Tabuan Muda ‘B’ (national Under-17 team) - and DSP United, who defeated Rimba Star FC.
The draw for the DST FA Cup second round was held at NFABD House today, where Tabuan A were drawn to play against Setia Perdana.
The winner of that match will face either the Royal Brunei Police Force Sports Council (MS PDB) or Kota Rangers FC in the quarter-finals.
Another key second round match will be the one between reigning DST FA Cup champions the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) and Tabuan Muda A (national Under-18 team).
The winner of that match will face either DSP United or Menglait FC in the quarter-finals.
Indera Sports Club take on IKLS FC, and the winner of that match will face either Lun Bawang FC or Jerudong FC in the quarter-finals.
Wijaya FC will meet BSRC FT, and the winner of that match will face either Najip I-Team or Kasuka FC in the quarter-finals.
