The Japanese Ambassador to Brunei, Motohiko Kato, visited the national Under-16 team which will be travelling to Japan next week to participate in the JENESYS2017 exchange programme.
The program launched by the Japanese government will be held from March 6 to 14 in Tokyo and Miyazaki and will be participated by all ASEAN member states except for Myanmar – whose players are unable to attend due to their busy academic calendar.
Besides playing the Japanese national Under-15 team and an Under-16 Miyazaki selection, the teams will watch an AFC Champions League game and take part in various cultural activities.
“The Japanese players are ready for you (national Under-16 team) and waiting to train hard with their new friends,” said Kato during his visit to NFABD House.
“I hope the players will come back stronger, and at the same time I hope they will enjoy the hospitality, food and beautiful scenery in Japan.
“The Japanese government and embassy places great importance in youth and sports exchange programmes because the future of our bilateral relations lies on the shoulders of these young people,” he added.
