NFABD appointed Paul Smalley as the National Coach and Head of Player and Coach Development

Paul Smalley the man credited with playing a key part in reviving the elite and International set-up and performances at Junior and Senior Levels with the Bangladesh Football Federation, has joined the NFAD Technical department as National Coach and Head of Player and Coach Development effective of 31 October 2019.
Smalley who joined the Southern Federation of Bangladesh in 2016 as National Technical Director, orchestrated an elite player development plan aimed at creating more successful International sides across junior age groups, senior and women's Football. As well as a Coaching & Education Scheme to support the development of coaches at all levels of the game. Smalley achieved technical plaudits from AFC and FIFA with his work on the technical structure which has also allowed an AFC Coaching Convention A Diploma status.
He had attracted much interest from clubs and Member Associations around the world with his all-round Technical experience and the recent Bangladesh National Team World Cup 2020 Qualifier performances notably against Qatar and India.
Paul was a graduate of England's National Football School, a Youth International and former Professional Football Player. National Coach in England and having worked at International level with both Men and Women teams from youth to senior level. Paul has experienced Europe, Oceania, Australia, Korea, Asia, Southern Asia, USA in Professional Club, National, International, World Cup, Coaching & Technical Director's positions. Paul was Head of Youth at Portsmouth Football Club in the Premier League in the UK and holds the highest qualifications in both youth development, coaching and coach education within UEFA and AFC mandates.

Smalley has a real depth and breath of experience and we are excited to secure his services. Paul will be responsible for the development of NFABD Coach Education in providing more qualified coaching into the game and a Federation commitment to coaching excellence. He will develop an International set-up philosophy and DNA to develop both players and coaches at Junior and Senior Levels. He will take responsibility for the flagship U23 and Senior International Teams.
