Ladies & Gentlemen,

May take this opportunity to welcome you all here this morning to a most interesting seminar titled “Holistic Development through Social Responsibility”. We have a mixture of attendance in today's seminar I understand that some of you are football coaches, Physical Education teachers, government officers, members of Non-Government Organisations, Undergraduates and corporate personnel to say the least. This just shows that everyone from any walk of life, can relate to and contribute to social responsibility such as, health awareness campaign, charitable events or even street education.

It is gratifying to note that the agenda of this Seminar covers a wide range of very interesting items relating to the positive wellbeing and health awareness in society.

Football is arguably an integral part of global society and the world’s most popular sport. It has an invaluable role to play in driving social development We are lucky to have these distinguished gentlemen to deliver the topics of this seminar, they are experts in their own field. With this package of a one-day seminar, I hope all of you would gain the values and knowledge with regard to holistic development through social responsibility When you finish this seminar today, we hope with what these gentlemen can impart to you, you can then share and realize it with your community.

NFABD, with the continuous support from the AFC, is consistently planning towards a more holistic and positive approach to giving back to society, spreading awareness and youth social development by using football as the medium for instance our National U-16 Youth League, a youth league first of its kind for Brunei Darussalam. NFABD’s Grassroots programme is a football youth development program for under 12 years old, nationwide Center Of Excellence program which is youngsters playing organized football towards an elite level. With this I thank the Asian Football Confederation, especially Dr Annathurai, for all his tremendous efforts in making this happen. In closing, I wish every one of you all the best and please enjoy today's seminar to the utmost. Thank you.
